R2-D2 PARTS

JAGS awesome center foot run show above.  Came with steel center foot, AL ankle and 4 Ankle Cylinders and Wedges and mounting hardware!

These are some pictures of the parts I have either purchased through the club or have made myself.  Anyone wanting to build an R2 unit would be well advised to read, read, read and read some more before actually getting into this hobby!  Thanks again to all that have REALLY helped me out getting these sometimes very hard to get parts.  Some builders take over 3 years to collect these.  Again, THANKS to all that have helped out, without you this would NOT have been possible.  You can make your own parts, but time, materials and equipment does dictate you route.  Do not think you cannot make your own, a lot of builders have... but sure is nice to get some of the great parts shown below!

This is where I put pictures of the parts as received and prior to finish work such as sanding, assembly, etc.  Look under the CONSTRUCTION PAGES for assembly of these parts.

DOME PARTS

LOGIC DISPLAY TEMPLATES (LDT) (PL)
Damian of Las Vegas offered these to the group.
Sure save us fellow builders a lot of time trying
to drill a lot of holes.  I got two sets, one generic
and one "ANH Psycho".

LDT "ANH PSYCHO" CLOSEUP
A closeup shot of the front LDT's.  Shows the off center
spacing to try to replicate the actual spacing on the
original movie Episode IV (ANH).

HOLOPROJECTORS (HP) (Resin):
Azman's great resin HP castings.  These are copies
of actual AL
versions.  I have an order in for a set of
AL parts, but after getting these
I wish I never had to
worry about AL.  Great job Azman!

RADAR EYE
(Resin):
This was the next one, the awesome resin
Radar Eye from Dave Everett.

LOGIC DISPLAY HOUSINGS (LDH) (Resin):
A set of Azman's Logic Display Housings.  These
are casted
from aluminum masters.
Great job again Azman!

LOGIC DISPLAY HOUSINGS (LDH) (Aluminum):
Wayne Orr also came up with a aluminum version of the LDH's.  Nice.  I'm going to use
the resin ones for another droid.

LARGE DATA PORT (LDT) (Aluminum):
Again, I asked if anyone had an LDT available,
again a fellow R2 Builders Group member

came though and sold me a set of JAG's AL parts.
These were sold to a fellow local  builder.

LARGE DATA PORT (LDP) (Aluminum):
Now Wayne Orr came up with a one piece verson of the LDP.  Great job as usual from Wayne.

Man, I can't remember, but I posted a message
about needing one and
a fellow R2 builder

the R2 Builders Group.  This is the older "long"
version.

UTILITY ARMS (AL):
My gosh, Ron Barkley was kind enough to send me
these with my R&J Dome,

and Resin Utility Arm order.  Darn, don't get any

better than this... Thanks Ron!

FRAME PARTS

DOME DRIVE

Guy Averett's awesome dome drive system, this
was another one

ANH look.  These were sold to another builder.

HOSESHOE SHIM, HORESHOE AND BOOSTER COVERS (Aluminum):

OUTER FOOT (SHELLS) (Aluminum):
This is one of the feet from Kelly Krider's 'budget' run.
I still have some work
with this to get the Big Lots
scooter motors installed, sure will be great when
it's finished.
Have two of these plus the center
foot shell.  Thanks for the parts Kelly!
These also have been sold to another builder, I ordered
JAG's steel outer feet.

ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS PARTS

FRONT LOGIC DISPLAY ELETRONICS KIT
Jason Kotecki, Ben Lewitt & Bruce Maley  did a run of Dave E's awesome front Logic Display

RADIO CONTROL SYSTEM (R/C)
Here is a photo of my current electronic control parts.
It shows
Mark Hamesters PCB1 and PCB2 and the

system.  The radio is a
75 Mhz ground frequency unit.

came with transmitter, receiver and
2 servos.
System works great!  Already have a "R2" model
